Homeowners through the RREM
Program administered by DCA
COMPLETION DATE: 2013 – Ongoing
DiGeronimo Architects has participated in two aspects of this Program completing construction contract documents for over 200 homes. Under contract to Gilbane Construction Company where Gilbane won with DiGeronimo as a sub-contractor the Program Manager Contract to work directly under DCA, starting September 2013 one year after Super Storm Sandy.
When DCA changed program parameters to exclude design services from the Program Manager’s task options, DiGeronimo linked with Seneca SCMC LLC to provide Design-Build for homeowners who selected Pathway C, where homeowners are assigned a DCA approved contractor.
Now that DCA has closed Pathway C, DiGeronimo continues to provide homeowners professional design-build services under the Pathway B designation.
New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Sandy Recovery Division is engaged in this major program designed to assist homeowners who have agreed to participate in the RREM Program. The Program is administered by DCA and funded through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Federal Community Development Block Grant Disaster Relief Program.
New York City and costal New Jersey comprise a dense major urban regional network of complex interconnected systems. The Region comprises the largest economy in the United States and globally; it is second only to Tokyo. We were devastated by the Storm. Regardless of the damage Super Storm Sandy
caused to the regional, national and global economy, all homeowners in affected communities wanted was to get back home.
Homeowners who lost everything; homeowners who never had anticipated a construction program nor ever wanted a construction program are thrust into a murky world of permits, paperwork, forms, terms, and those who would prey on the disadvantaged. DiGeronimo provides the stability of 45 years of professional architectural experience, an experienced team of consultant Site-Civil and Structural Engineers, and commercial construction contractors.
With DiGeronimo, a homeowner gets a home not a headache.
